The Napier-Railton. Brooklands centenary book project
The Napier Railton at Brooklands. This historic automobile holds the outright lap record for the Brooklands circuit at 144.44 mph established on the 7th October 1935. Designed by Reid Railton who fitted the car with a massive 12 cylinder 24-Litre aero engine purloined from a boat!
Ron was commissioned for a book project to photograph almost the entire historic collection of cars, aircraft and motorcycles at Brooklands museum in Surrey. Taking nearly a year to complete, the complete collection of images are now published as a special book, “100 Years of Brooklands” the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation.
