The 1935 Hawker Hurricane Brooklands Centenary book collection
The Hawker Hurricane at Brooklands. This actual aircraft first saw service in the RAF in 1941 before being shipped to Russia in 1942. While in service with the Red Air Force in Siberia it was shot down over Murmansk and fifty four years later it’s remains were discovered by Russian aviation historians. It was eventually purchased by Brooklands and brought back to the museum where it was originally built.
Ron was commissioned for a book project to photograph almost the entire historic collection of cars, aircraft and motorcycles at Brooklands museum in Surrey. Taking nearly a year to complete, the complete collection of images are now published as a special book, “100 Years of Brooklands” the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation.
